Dr. Shosa (drshosa@baxtereye.com) is a native ("born and raised") to The Woodlands, TX. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY in 2000 where she played Division I water polo. She studied Public Health at The University of Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health, Houston. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in May of 2013. Dr. Shosa was selected by her peers as a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society for demonstrating an outstanding professional and ethical attitude through leadership and service to her class, college and profession. She was also awarded the Nelson Reber Eye Opener award and several letters of clinical excellence by her attending doctors.

Dr. Shosa completed an internship in pre-operative and post-operative care of LASIK, PRK, and cataract surgeries. She also interned with Hopping Eye Associates in primary care, specialty contact lens, and pediatric and binocular vision in their Vision Learning Center. She is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Shosa has special interests in: fitting specialty contact lenses, co-management of refractive and cataract surgeries, providing InfantSee exams, and essential eye care for children. She routinely diagnoses and manages acute and chronic eye diseases, including ocular trauma, infection and retinal disease. She is also a participant in the InfantSee program, which provides an exam at no charge for infants age 6 to 12 months. She is a member of the optometric honor society Beta Sigma Kappa, is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

When not practicing optometry, she attends Church Project, enjoys running, fitness classes, golfing with her husband Brian and spending time with their three children.
